March Update

Scott's not very happy with me for posting this one,
but I thought it was precious! We had just gotten back
from our trip to Paris (hence Scott's travel pillow case).
As is our morning routine, I'll get up and take my shower
while Scott feeds Madilyn and gets her ready. Well, after
I got out of the shower this morning, I discovered that these
two sleepy heads decided to get a few more minutes of sleep
after the morning bottle. Is that not just adorable or what?!
Strike a pose! Take that Madonna!

It cracks us up that Madi has started kicking back
in this relaxed mode. This is one of her sick evenings
(hence the red cheeks), but she doesn't seem too bothered!

Madi seems to be a little upset that she's having
to say goodbye to her Auntie Karen before she
heads back to London. She had a good time
playing with her while she was here!

Karen showed you one little nudie pic, but I couldn't
help but share mine, as well! She just loves to
have her diaper changed! You can tell how
much fun she's having!!

My friend, Jenny, was over one afternoon while her
husband helped Scott install a new garage door opener
for us (another little mishap this month!) and so she fed
Madilyn while she was here. Madi was just
mesmerized by her as you can tell!

We're now learning to eat cereal!!!
It's a messy process, but we're coming along.

the reason his shirt is wet at the bottom was b/c he just
finished washing her bottles!! What a man!

Well, I guess I've developed a pattern...I had hoped to be able to update our blog more than once a month, but that seems to be what I've been doing lately. It just so happens that today's update ends up on the same day as Karen posted one.

As she mentioned, Karen flew in to town for a whirlwind trip. Our parents were moving away from Paris, TX to Tyler, TX after 21 years, so as a surprise Karen met up with us Savages here in Arkansas and we all drove down to TX for their last day at church. It was very special for us all, and the church there in Paris did an amazing job at sending the Gilberts off in style. We're ALL going to miss our church family there!

As for the Savages, Scott is now employed!!! Yeah!!! Thank you all for your many prayers for him. He did end up getting the job at Proctor and Gamble that he had wanted, and we joked that it was b/c of so many prayers being sent up on his behalf. We figured that God finally decided to say "Fine! I'll give him the job - just stop pestering me about it!!" : ) It's a daunting responsibility, but Scott's looking forward to the challenge of being a virtual designer for P&G for their Walmart account. Basically, in a nutshell, he'll be creating a virtual reality WM store that can be pulled up on the computer screen so that it looks like you're walking through an actual store. This allows them to move product displays around the store to see what they like best w/out having to actually go through all the manual labor. Certainly, it's not anything that he's ever done before, but he's excited about gaining experience in this new cutting edge avenue.

Cheryl hasn't been doing much out of the ordinary lately, but she will be starting back to school on Thursday. For those of you who don't know or don't remember, she's in the process of working towards her master's degree through Harding University online. She was actually in the middle of a class when Madilyn came along, so she finished that class, but hasn't taken another one since then until now. It will definitely make the next 6 weeks a bit hectic for her schedule, but she doesn't want to delay graduation, so "a girl's gotta do what a girl's gotta do!"

As Karen mentioned, we found out on Thursday that Madilyn had the flu. Dog gonnit! Seems like she has come down with just about every bug that's been out there this season! Just as soon as we got past the RSV, we developed a nasty diaper rash that ended up blistering (we suspect it's a symptom of trying to cut a tooth, but we haven't seen one break through yet!) I swear the rash couldn't have been gone more than a day or two when Madilyn started running a high fever. The fever combined with congestion gave our nurse friend, Sarah, cause to suspect the flu, so she fit us in to see the doctor she works for since Dr. Carl was off for the day (they both work in the same clinic, though). Her suspicions were correct. Unfortunately, doctors can't give babies as small as Madilyn anything to treat the flu, so we just had to treat the fever with Tylenol and let the rest run its course. Scott and I got a prescription for Tamiflu, though, so that we don't end up catching it from her. I stayed home from work with her on Friday, though, and we'll stay home again tomorrow. She's definitely feeling better, though. I would imagine that she'll be back at daycare on Tuesday.
